Mid-Autumn Festival 2009 with Great Moon Cake & Lantern

 

Tomorrow (3/Oct/2009) is Mid-Autumn festival 2009 (中秋節 2009), and there are a lot of people start gather together tonight to have a pre Mid-Autumn festival party to eat and taste the different type of moon cakes, and children will play the lanterns then walk around their house. Actually, we are having the great moon cake (just received it from China Beijing) & play the lanterns now, and at the same time we celebrate birthday for our niece. :)

Mid-Autumn Festival (Moon Festival) is a big day for China, and most of the companies and government departments off from 1/Oct/2009 ~ 8/Oct/2009 as holidays, and there have great celebration like moon cake competition, lantern competition, etc in different area and cities. My friends from Xiamen told me that Moon Festival is more important than Chinese New Year, and that why they do have long holidays. Usually they will gather within these few days for below activities.

• Eat different type of moon cakes
• Chit chat with their family and friends outside under the moon
• Play lanterns and light up the candles around their house
• Some people will try the floating sky lanterns
• Tell the ‘Chang E’ (嫦娥) story to their children
• Visit temples

Same as Penang Autocity, tomorrow there will have a lantern show and celebration (may have lantern competition as well) from around 7pm ~ 11:30pm. So, we plan to have our dinner at Sushi King, then visit the show to get free lantern for our children to play, at the same time they can see various type of lantern design and enjoy the show over there. You can bring your family and friend there to enjoy the Lantern Festival or Mooncake Festival!

Philippines Flood - Need Your Help and Donation

Since last few days the Typhoon Ketsana (locally called ‘Ondoy’) attacked Philippines, there are more than 300 people been killed and hundred thousands of people have to leave their home. Philippines flood already caused more than 400,000 refugees are looking for shelter in public buildings, schools, etc. There are more than 1.8 million people have been impacted, especially the residents in Manila. They really need your help and donation, at least the food and water is the must for them.

Now, they are worry another storm (Typhoon Parma) may attack the Philippines again, possible reach in another two or three days. If it is happen in next few days, then it really make the current situation become worse, because they predict the Typhoon Parma could be more powerful than Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy). Lets pray for them!

If you are not able to be onsite to help them, then may be you can try to donate online or offline, and you can ask your family or friends make the donation as well. This is not only used to get more food, water, clothes, medicine, etc to them, and it can be used to rebuild their infrastructure, houses, etc, and help those hundred thousand people able to get through their difficult time. 自稱「遭駭客入侵」的HOLA和樂家居館，似乎跟2次標錯價的戴爾電腦，成了難兄難弟。兩家業者都在「假日出包」，戴爾最後拿產品全年打8折，跟消費者和解，HOLA這回面對「64億張」千元禮券的不正常交易，如果真要全賠，必須掏出6.4兆，怕出清資產都不夠賠。

假日客潮照樣賣力消費，HOLA自稱網路不正常交易的64億千元禮券，是被駭客攻擊！巧就巧在，HOLA網站週日凌晨出包，戴爾官網2次標錯價，發生在週五晚上跟週六，莫非假日網管有漏洞？出了包，代價可不小，戴爾當初想發折價券，消保官確認定「沒誠意」，開罰百萬，最後戴爾拿全年產品打8折和解，如果HOLA循戴爾模式賠，很可能開放線上產品8折，或賠面額最低的100元電子商品券，萬筆訂單，可能認賠100萬消災，畢竟，資本額4.2億的HOLA，如果全賠，恐怕會倒店，11家店賠光光，也付不出6.4兆。

消基會認為，如果業者HOLA最後沒辦法舉證自己是受害者，就必須對下單者負責。消基會董事長謝天仁：「像戴爾這個事件裡面，不只人家會認為，用這個(標錯價)事件在炒作，甚至於有人在懷疑，用這樣的方式得到消費者資料，來達到它促銷的相關目的。」 消基會提醒，消費者如果只下1張單、買1張HOLA禮券，被保障的機會相對變高，如果惡意大量下單，想利用網站疏漏獲利，恐怕只會等到一場空。

Another case happen again after Dell, that HOLA website released 64 hundred million electronic vouchers (thousand dollar) for their customers. They said that possible attached by Hacker, but don’t have any prove yet. Dell has to discount 20% for those products for whole year due to the wrong pricing listed in the Internet, so this time we are not sure how HOLA to handle it. If HOLA need to pay all the vouchers, then HOLA might bankrupt as the total asset of HOLA not enough to pay 6.4 trillion dollar (Unihan Definition for Taiwan). WOW!

If HOLA not able to prove that is not their mistake, then they have to provide a solution for their customers. Even they follow the Dell method to provide 20% discount, or give the minimum voucher or coupon (hundred dollar), then with 11 x HOLA shops still not able to pay to their customers with 64 hundred million vouchers.

If HOLA bankrupt, then it will impact to thousand workers and their suppliers seriously, especially during slow economic market. Oh man!

This is show that we really need to be careful if doing the Internet online business, and this is one the serious example from Dell and HOLA. The leak of Internet security will cause our business loss million of dollar, or even in worse situation then may ‘close shop’. So, IT play a very important role in this modern day, and without IT with the latest technologies and strategies, then you will not able to compete with your competitors. Not sure Insurance can cover or not? Possible is a good opportunity for Insurance company!

A 20-year-old woman suffering from Influenza A(H1N1) died on Tuesday, the fourth person to die in Malaysia due to the virus, while more schools and campuses were closed when students exhibited flu-like symptoms.

In TANJUNG MALIM in Perak, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris has been closed for seven days starting Wednesday after an unconfirmed number of students showed flu-like symptoms.

State Health Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon said the concerned students had been sent to the Tanjung Malim Hospital for a check-up.

Those who have exhibited symptoms have been quarantined on campus, while thousands of other students have been sent home.

In GEORGE TOWN, PENANG, three schools and a university campus were also affected.

Penang Health, Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh confirmed that the MRSM Kepala Batas and two classes at SK Kepala Batas were closed, starting Tuesday, for a week.

“The other two are the Universiti Sains Malaysia engineering campus near Nibong Tebal and Jit Sin A Primary School in Bukit Mertajam which are closed starting today (July 29) for a week,” he said Wednesday.

My opinion:-

Please stay at home rather than go out to shopping center or market, especially your children. If your children or family member is from the above schools or university, then your whole family please don’t go out for a week and try to monitor all the family member’s health. Unless you need to get something where you can’t call and get your relative or friends help to send to you, then please wear mask as minimum when you out.

PUTRAJAYA: As the death toll from Influenza A (H1N1) rose to 38, the Government green-lighted the use of rapid test kits for private clinics and hospitals to conduct flu checks on the public.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said private healthcare providers can use these kits to help cope with the large number of patients wanting to be checked, and for faster detection and containment of the pandemic.

SANTA BARBARA, CA -During a search for evidence at the Neverland Valley Ranch, investigators discovered a corpse that has been identified as that of Michael Jackson, Santa Barbara police officials announced Tuesday.

"Coroners have officially pronounced Michael Jackson dead. From what we can tell, he died between 18 and 20 years ago," forensic investigator Tim Holbrooke said. "We are not certain, at this time, who-or what-has been standing trial in that Santa Maria courthouse."

According to Holbrooke, Jackson 's corpse was buried just inches below a stretch of the miniature-train tracks that run throughout Neverland. The largely desiccated corpse wore the remains of a red, zipper-covered leather jacket and a single glove.

"We positively identified the body as Jackson by his dental records and DNA," Holbrooke said. "But even before we conducted a single forensic test, we began to suspect that that we'd uncovered the real Michael, and that the disturbing figure claiming to be Jackson was a fake."

Holbrooke said that, although the corpse was in an advanced stage of decomposition, when investigators compared the body to early-career publicity photos of Jackson , they saw a striking resemblance in bone structure and facial features. But when they compared the body to photos taken after 1987, the resemblance was negligible.

"This discovery raises a lot of questions, but it also sheds light on a number of disturbing incidents," Holbrooke said. "Frankly, Jackson had been acting pretty strange."

Forensic experts and music critics are postulating that Jackson was dead before the release of the multi-platinum album Bad. Detectives are currently analyzing the lyrics to "Man In The Mirror" for any clues relating to a look-alike entity that many suspect murdered the youngest member of the Jackson 5 and assumed his identity.

"We believe that Neverland served as some sort of freakishly whimsical tomb constructed by Jackson 's killer," Holbrooke said. "We also suspect that all of the iniquities that occurred on that ranch were the work of the imposter. I wouldn't have ever thought it possible, but we are looking at a situation where the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old cancer patient is the tip of the iceberg."

Holbrooke said that, while the living Jackson is the leading suspect in the murder investigation, he "could be another victim of some sort."

"Basically, we have no idea what type of creature we are dealing with," Holbrooke said.

A member of the investigative team that discovered Jackson 's body described the experience as "otherworldly."

"As we neared the perimeter of Neverland, the dogs started whining and howling like crazy," Santa Barbara County detective Frank Poeller said. "We had to pull them into the house. When we got to Jackson 's bedroom, one of them almost choked himself to death on his leash trying to get out through the window. Minutes later, the same dog led us to the corpse."

A representative from Jackson 's self-created label, MJJ Productions, said he was not surprised to find out that the current Jackson is an imposter.

"When we were recording 'Heal The World' for Dangerous, I could tell something was terribly, terribly wrong," MJJ manager Luke Allard said. "Michael didn't seem like himself anymore. He'd demand bizarre food and sit for hours in a hyperbaric chamber. His appearance began to become more and more peculiar. Soon afterwards, he started wearing a mask and confiding in a chimpanzee."

"I remember thinking, 'This man has become a monster,'" Allard said. "If only I'd known how right I was."

Allard said he thinks that the imposter broke ties with Jackson 's former friends and surrounded himself with children who were too young to notice the radical change.

Vanity Fair reporter Beth Pither visited Neverland in 1994.

"A strangely fearful staff member led me to Jackson , but ran off before I opened the door," Pither said. "Standing there with my hand on an ice-cold doorknob, I heard strange, unnatural sounds-leathery wings flapping, a sorrowful wail, and loud hissing. A wave of dread passed through me as I opened the door, but all I found was Michael and some kids in pajamas eating ice cream and watching 101 Dalmatians."

While their claims have not been corroborated, other Neverland visitors have reported that when when Jackson entered a room, lights flickered, faucets ran blood-red, and screams escaped from the walls.

To aid in the investigation, the FBI enlisted Dr. Richard Weingarden, a noted expert on the paranormal from UC Santa Barbara. After only two hours, Weingarden abandoned the project.

"The smell of sulfur, the decaying facial features, the bizarrely high-pitched voice-it sounds exactly like..." Weingarden said, trailing off. "I'm sure it's nothing. Not a big deal. Nothing to be terrified about, certainly. I have to go. I've got a family."

Thomas Sneddon, the prosecutor in Jackson's child-molestation lawsuit, said it remains to be seen how the shocking discovery will affect the trial.

Megan Gustafson, who left her post as president of the Akron , OH Michael Jackson Fan Club after the singer was accused of molestation, offered a positive view of the grisly revelation.

"This is very disturbing news," Gustafson said. "But to be honest, it's kind of a relief too. Thriller and Off The Wall are really amazing records. Now I can pull them out of my 'ruined by child abuse' storage bin and start listening to them again.
